Manak Solicitors celebrate opening of new office and attract praise from Sevenoaks Mayor for their community spirit
Sevenoaks Town Mayor Nick Busvine attended a reception at Manak Solicitors new office at 46 London Road, Sevenoaks on Thursday (7 November) to celebrate the move to the new premises.
During a speech he praised the company and its Managing Director Surinder Manak for the amount of support they have generously already given to the local community.
One of the many charities Manak has supported is The Lewis Project, the Sevenoaks-based organisation that helps young people with their mental wellbeing through music.
A group of their musicians provided the entertainment at the reception.
Also among the guests was former Defence Secretary, Rt Hon Sir Michael Fallon, who recently stood down as the Sevenoaks MP after announcing he will not be standing in the forthcoming election.
The 46 London Road premises has been the home of several local businesses since a building was first erected at the address in the early 19th century. It has been used by coachbuilding companies and was even a car salesroom when vehicles started making an appearance on the Sevenoaks roads.
But those who have been living in the Sevenoaks area for at least 50 years will remember 48 London Road as William Daws, the paint and decorating outlet. It later became Daisywheel, an office services and supplies outlet, later changing its name to Ditto Office Services in 2012.
Manak has completely refurbished the interior and exterior of the property giving it a fresh new look.
