Age UK is first organisation to get financial aid from Sevenoaks Town Council Community Resilience Fund

Age UK Sevenoaks and Tonbridge has benefitted from a £2,000 Community Resilience Fund grant made available through Sevenoaks Town Council.

The grant will be used to provide an emergency shopping fund for older people in Sevenoaks who are housebound and cannot access money to pay for essentials.

It will also go towards covering the cost of regular phone calls to clients as well as helping to pay the expenses of volunteer befrienders who are supporting local older people who are housebound and lonely.

Sevenoaks Town Council created a £30,000 Community Resilience Fund for those who are putting in place voluntary arrangements to help those in need.

The Town Council will be making speedy decisions to ensure that these grants are provided when needed. Those wishing to apply for a grant from this Fund they should complete the Sevenoaks Town Council Grant Application Form on its website www.sevenoakstown.gov.uk .

Traditionally applications have been reviewed twice a year, however bearing in mind the circumstances applications will now be reviewed as swiftly as possible as and when received.

It is also noted that applicants may not be able to comply with providing all the information normally required. Applicants are asked to complete as much information as possible and forward to Sevenoaks Town Council for consideration.
