Suspected shoplifter charged with multiple thefts in Sevenoaks

A suspected shoplifter has been charged with a series of thefts from shops in Sevenoaks.

Quantities of alcohol, groceries, clothing and cosmetics were reported stolen during a spate of offences, between 14 April and Wednesday 10 June 2020.

The thefts are alleged to have taken place at Waitrose, Boots, Marks and Spencer, and two smaller shops in the town.

Shane Bignall, aged 35, of Whippendell Way, Orpington, was arrested on 10 June and later charged with seven counts of theft. He was bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 21 July.
