Put your art and sole into this free to enter shoe exhibition at the Kaleidoscope Gallery and you could win £100

IF YOU take a look around the Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery you could be forgiven for thinking you had walked into a shoe shop by mistake as the walls are covered in footwear.

The hundreds of arty shoes have been made by residents, schools, social groups, and youth clubs etc in the Sevenoaks area as part of a community ‘Art and Sole’ project called ‘Footfall’.

It has been organised by members of the Sevenoaks Visual Arts Forum (SVAF), which has been running the Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery at Sevenoaks Library since April 2017.

Although around 500 shoes are already on display, another three hundred shoes given out at the start of the project to be turned into a piece of art have not yet been returned. Plus, if you would like to put a shoe in the display there is still time to time for you to enter. You can pick up a shoe from Kaleidoscope.

You will then have a chance of winning £100 being offered as a first prize for the shoe chosen by a public vote. There are also three runners up prizes of £50 and other prizes supplied by The Sevenoaks Art Shop, The Sevenoaks Bookshop and The Danish Collection. These prizes will be awarded by Sevenoaks Town Mayor Cllr Roderick Hogarth on 5 January 2019.

So, if you haven’t entered yet, put your best foot forward and get down to Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery and pick up a shoe.
