Mud mud glorious mud… time to get down and dirty again at The Little Welly on the St. Clere Estate
Back by popular demand, The Little Welly returns to the St. Clere Estate near Sevenoaks, Kent on 16 & 17 May, 2020. Families can get excited about an even bigger dollop of muddy family fun-time thanks to the launch of a longer new 5k obstacle course – as well as the original 3k route – and multiple new challenges such as the slip-and-slide, the big tubes, the new climbing rig and more.
The event follows the huge success of the 2019 event, where more than 4,000 locals enjoyed the muddy obstacle course, including none other than JLS Star and Celebrity Broadcaster JB Gill, who officially opened the event with his son, as well as Dame Kelly Holmes who said: “My family and I loved The Little Welly. The course was a lot of fun and my niece and nephews had a great time, we can’t wait to go back again next year.”
Especially created for kids aged four to 12, The Little Welly is the UK’s largest obstacle course for children and has more than 30 challenges. It includes climbing walls, a huge water slide, scramble nets, balancing poles, foam pit and of course, lots of mud! This unique, interactive experience provides an exciting, energetic adventure in the great outdoors and promises to create family memories to last a lifetime.
The Little Welly is proud of its partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. The charity was chosen for all the wonderful work it carries out supporting over 21,000 seriously ill children and their families in the UK. Participants are being invited to help The Little Welly raise vital funds for the charity by collecting sponsorship for completing the obstacle course and conquering all the obstacles – the forms can be accessed here.
But there’s so much more to enjoy. Set in the heart of the stunning grounds of St Clere Estate, the Little Welly Festival Village has something for all the family including The Big Inflatable Toddler Course, Climbing Wall, Pony Rides, Bungee Trampolines, The Mobile Cave and The Human Hamster Balls.
There will also be a stage featuring live music and entertainment throughout the day and a new Show Tent featuring comedy magic from none other than Britain’s Got Talent finalist Christian Lee, spectacular circus skills and the Flying Bazizi Brothers will be performing a riotous spectacle of dance, juggling and acrobatic stunts.
An array of culinary delights are also available to help satisfy even the biggest appetites including pizzas, artisan coffee, prosecco & pancakes, burgers and vegetarian alternatives, waffles and ice creams.
It’s Kids vs Mud time – and you even get a medal!
The muddier the better … The Little Welly offers the perfect antidote to sedentary screen time this summer.
Designed for children to enjoy with family and friends, this unique festival lets you share the magic of the great outdoors with your kids and enjoy new activities and experiences through fitness, foam and fun!
The interactive course is reimagined every year and is especially created to challenge kids (and their parents!) in a fun, unique and safe outdoor environment. Scale the towering heights of The Web Frame, conquer the looming Dark Crawl, splash through the Mud & Water Pits, brave the Spider Tunnel, fearlessly face the Three Hump Dragon, balance on the Long Pole Run and slide around in the Foam Pit. And as a reward for all that effort every child can collect their The Little Welly medal as they cross the finishing line – Great memories are made here!
A day at The Little Welly is jam-packed full of fun, adventure and future memories – but don’t just take our word for it:
“The Little Welly is such a great day out for all the family – my boys loved it; fun, fitness, foam and lots and lots of mud!” – Roger Black, Olympic Medalist
“My mummy ran all the way round the course with me and helped me when I got stuck under the net. I wasn’t scared at all. I was so happy. She laughed lots too. I want to do it again next year.” – Isabelle, age 6
“Normally, my mum gets cross with me when I get that muddy! It was so much fun and I loved doing the race with my friends too. Better than sports day by far!” – Amelie, age 8
“I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Usually with kids based activities, parents hang around watching their children enjoy themselves. It’s a pretty passive affair. The Little Welly was all about enjoying the experience together and it was lovely to share something with Freya and be ‘in the moment’ with her. I think her favourite bit was watching me get soaked and covered in foam at the end!” – Neil Canning, dad of Freya, age 6
