Join the Sevenoaks Squadron of the Royal Air Force Cadets as a Volunteer

Over 20? Seeking a new challenge? Would you like to develop skills, leadership qualities and gain qualifications too? The Sevenoaks Squadron of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets is looking for enthusiastic individuals to become adult volunteers, helping to run the activities that play such an important role in the lives of its young members.

Based at the Drill Hall in Argyle Road in central Sevenoaks, cadets participate in a busy schedule of activities and events. On parade nights (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) they might be learning first aid, developing teamwork skills through drill, or working towards gaining BTEC qualifications. Weekends and school holidays often provide opportunities to go flying, to shoot, to compete in sports events, and to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

The Squadron is always keen to hear from adults who can offer their time to help support these activities. You don’t need to have a military background or have been a cadet yourself (although if that’s you, you’ll be very welcome!). More important is your enthusiasm, and an interest in helping young people develop, whilst also developing yourself and having fun.

To register your interest, click on this link and someone from the Squadron will be in touch.

The cadet experience is open to anyone aged between 13 (or at age 12 when beginning school year 8) and 17. Cadet recruitment takes place every March and September, and the Squadron’s next open evening is at the Drill Hall on Thursday 29th September from 7.45pm, when all are welcome to come see what the Air Cadets do, and to hear from the cadets themselves.
