Choose Care as your career of choice – Social Care recruitment event 19th March

People living in Sevenoaks and the surrounding towns are being given the chance to find out about career opportunities in Social Care at a special recruitment event in March.

With the number of people in the UK aged over 80 years old set to double by 2030, how we meet the demand for Care from an ageing population represents a significant national challenge. Our response must include growing the Social Care workforce, so people with the appropriate skills and experience will be in high demand for years to come, meaning job security is almost guaranteed.

Organised by leading local home care provider, Bluebird Care Sevenoaks, the event offers people seeking both full-time and part-time employment, and organisations working to place people in work, the opportunity to meet current care staff, ask questions, and collect information about the challenges and rewards the sector has to offer, as well as the unique benefits of working for Bluebird Care Sevenoaks.

Through their office located opposite Sevenoaks Hospital near Bat & Ball, Bluebird Care Sevenoaks provides care and support to a wide range of vulnerable adults in Sevenoaks, Edenbridge, Eynsford, Farningham, Seal, Weald, West Kingsdown and Westerham.

Ben Davie, co-Director of Bluebird Care Sevenoaks, said,

“Bluebird Care has an excellent reputation across the country for providing high-quality, person-centred Homecare coupled with first class customer service, which enables the people we support to live independent and dignified lives in the comfort and security of their own homes.

We support vulnerable adults, young and old, who suffer from dementia, physical and learning disabilities, as well as challenges with their mental health, and work alongside their families, GPs, the NHS and Social Services to ensure that each person receives the level of Care they need.

We also invest heavily in the training and development of our staff so that they are well-equipped to meet the demands of their role.

We are now looking to expand our team of dedicated carers and are keen to meet local people who are interested in working in Care, not only as their main career, but also those with other full or part-time jobs who are looking to supplement their main income with rewarding work supporting their local community at evenings and weekends.”

Bluebird Care Sevenoaks offers a uniquely comprehensive Care service, which ranges from short daily Care visits, overnight support and 1-2-1 Live-in Care, all managed and overseen from their local office, offering residents of Sevenoaks a realistic alternative to Residential Care. As well as personal care they also help with medication management, meal preparation, light housework, shopping, trips outside the home and social support.

For many customers the service is regular and on-going, though can be short-term, for instance following hospital discharge or respite cover when someone’s main carer or relatives are away.

Danni James, HR & Recruitment Officer, added:

Employing committed and passionate care staff has been a huge part of our success. We will only ever be as good as the staff we employ, and our staff are excellent! We are empathic, professional and 100% committed to improving the quality of life of the people we look after.

Danni added: “We’re now taking our recruitment opportunities out into the community and are keen to talk to charities and services which support people to find or return to work. Come along to our recruitment event and meet some of our wonderful carers. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about the positions we need to fill and the many benefits that Bluebird Care Sevenoaks can offer anyone considering a career in Care, no matter how many hours a week they can offer”.

This event will take place at The Stag Plaza, London Road, Sevenoaks TN13 1ZZ between 10am and 12noon on 19thMarch.

If you are interested in attending, please telephone Danni James on 01732-471541 (email dannijames@bluebirdcare.co.uk), or Michael Auton on 07862-253514 (email michaelautonconsultancy@gmail.com) to book your place or request a copy of the Care Assistant Recruitment Pack.
