How to prevent slips and trips – Sevenoaks care home hosts free advice event
A care home in Sevenoaks is inviting local people to a free event in November where they can learn more about preventing falls among older people.
On Thursday 7 November, from 2pm-4pm, Care UK’s Weald Heights, on Bourchier Close, Sevenoaks, is welcoming an expert to give advice to the local community at its fall prevention and awareness event.
Neurophysiotherapist, Jane Cast, will be visiting the home to provide expert guidance on preventing falls, reducing balance problems and maintaining independence. During the event there will be a chance to learn the common causes of slips and falls and discover ways of preventing them at home or in care, as well as advice and tips on activities and exercises that improve balance and reduce the risk of falls.
This event also provides members of the local community with the opportunity to meet the friendly team at Weald Heights and take a closer look at the care home, with complimentary refreshments provided.
Maria Covington, home manager at Weald Heights, said: “To prevent health issues that occasionally occur from accidental falls, it is very important to the team and to the wellbeing of the residents that we provide essential information on fall prevention.
