Stronger Together: Better Body Group and St. Julians Join Forces

In the heart of Sevenoaks, two much-loved independent businesses have teamed up to give their members something seriously special. Better Body Group, home to the UK’s largest dedicated personal training space, is all about expert-led fitness, while St Julians, a private members’ club with over 70 years of history, is the ultimate retreat for relaxation and community.
This partnership isn’t just about perks; it’s about bringing people together, supporting local business and redefining what a membership can offer. With fitness and social connection both proven keys to a longer, healthier life, BBG and St Julians are showing how collaboration has enabled them to offer more than either could alone, creating a richer, more well-rounded experience for their members.

Better Body Group – SO much more than just a gym

About St Julians – history, heart and community

St Julians isn’t just a private members’ club – it’s a little slice of Sevenoaks history, full of charm, character and a whole lot of heart. If you’ve ever wondered about its origins, here’s the story:
Back in the early 1950s, a group of professionals – including a solicitor, an actress, a doctor, a nurse and an architect – decided to try communal living. They shared responsibilities, raised their kids together and created a lifestyle built around connection. But by the late ‘50s, reality (and bills) kicked in and they needed a new plan. Enter: the St Julians members’ club. In the early days, joining meant rolling up your sleeves – gardening, roadwork and other contributions were all part of the deal

Fast forward to today, and while the model has changed, the spirit of community remains. St Julians is still owned and run by the same family, who live on-site, and it continues to be a place where generations come together. Whether it’s lifelong friendships, family celebrations or simply a quiet afternoon by the pool, St Julians is a place where time slows down, connections grow and memories are made.

Why this partnership just makes sense

Some things just make sense, and the partnership between Better Body Group and St Julians is one of them. As BBG’s Chris Sillett puts it, “this partnership was already happening.” With so much membership crossover, making it official adds even more value – giving existing members extra perks and offering new joiners benefits they’ll actually use.

Shared Values, Shared Vision

Both businesses are built on supporting and nurturing people. BBG helps young athletes develop strength and confidence (check out their Young Athletes Development Programme), while St Julians mentors young employees, guiding them into the working world. They also attract like-minded members – people who value well-being, whether through training at BBG or unwinding at St Julians.

Perfectly Complementary Facilities

For years, St Julians management wished for a gym – now, they have access to one of the UK’s best. Meanwhile, BBG members gain entry to a private club with stunning pools, tennis courts and peaceful social spaces.

Even better? BBG members now have an easy way to join St Julians, with BBG acting as their proposer and seconder. That means they can enjoy dining, workspaces and even exclusive event bookings – a real bonus, since you need to be a member to book weddings or private events at St Julians.

Two Experts, One Brilliant Collaboration

At its core, this partnership works because both businesses know their strengths – BBG are the fitness experts, and St Julians are hospitality specialists. By teaming up, they’ve created a seamless blend of physical fitness and social connection, helping members lead healthier, happier lives.

Fun Fact: This Partnership Started Long Ago!

Nell, one of the original family and one of the current Directors, and her husband were already BBG members – Nell’s husband even completed their famous 6-week transformation programme. So, in a way, this partnership was always meant to be!

Why are partnerships like this so important?

Businesses that collaborate create more value for their customers, strengthen the local community and grow smarter. The BBG x St Julians partnership is a perfect example.

More for Members – BBG clients gain access to an exclusive social space, while St Julians members can now train at one of the UK’s top gyms. A total lifestyle upgrade.

Boosts the Local Community – Independent businesses thrive when they support each other, keeping people engaged and invested in Sevenoaks.

Like-Minded Connections – Both attract people who prioritise wellness and quality experiences – now they can enjoy fitness and relaxation in one seamless package.

Smarter Growth – By combining their strengths, BBG and St Julians have created something more valuable than what each business could offer on its own and, as a result, have enhanced the entire experience for their members.

This isn’t just good business – it’s a win-win for everyone involved.
