Christmas Lights Switch-On 5.30pm onwards

Sevenoaks High Street

Sevenoaks Hight street will close at 5.30pm for an evening of entertainment culminating with the Christmas lights switch on by the Mayor at 7.30pm. Entertainment on stage from 6pm includes the Panto cast and gospel choir, Dance-Worx dance group, Amherst School Choir, MyCool Choir, singer Robbie White, Elsa and Olaf. Father Christmas will be in his grotto at Specsavers and there will fairground rides, stalls, food, drink, gift stalls and characters around the the town.

Toast the start of the festive season on the evening of Sevenoaks’ Christmas Lights Switch On. From 5.30 to 6pm, Martina Cole will be signing copies of her latest thriller, No Mercy. (Due to limited time Martina will only be able to sign books bought on the evening from Sevenoaks Bookshop.)

‘Over-paid, over-sexed and over-here’. The American Invasion of Britain 1942-1945 by Alan Williams. 1942 – 1945 American service personnel flooded into Britain, Alan will explore this ‘invasion’ and its impact on Britain and show the 1943 War Office film ‘A Welcome to Britain’ which explained how strange life in Britain was. Prepare to be amused and perhaps shocked in equal measure. Entry £3

The Folly Festive Fayre is open every Saturday selling gifts, Christmas cards and decorations. There will also be a raffle and refreshments. All proceeds support their work with wildlife. Due to the quiet rehabilitation needed for the animals, the main hospital will not be open.
