Wealden Properties builds a better communication network – and is also looking for specialist tradesmen
Over the past few months, Wealden Properties (Sevenoaks) has been working on how the company can communicate and interact with its tenants – both existing and potential – more effectively.
The biggest piece of work in this regard has been updating the Wealden website. Although the company has had a website domain for the past couple of years, it has not been regularly updated. Director Paul Baker said: “An out-of-date website is probably worse than not having one at all! The new website will allow us to advertise properties for rent and post updates re improvements to our portfolio and interesting news articles about our tenants.
“Furthermore, the website will allow tenants to report issues at their properties 24/7 in addition to texting and e-mailing us outside of office hours.”
Alongside an upgrade of the website, Wealden properties (Sevenoaks) now has its own LinkedIn page which again enables the company to post details of properties to rent in addition to interesting stories about its tenants.
One such space that is available at present is a ground floor office offering 370 sq ft of space for £575 per month inclusive of utilities. The office has shared kitchen and WC facilities with the upstairs tenant and also offers one dedicated car parking space in the complex. Overall, it is anticipated that by bringing Wealden Properties (Sevenoaks) more up-to-date these changes will give tenants – both existing and prospective – more options to get in contact.
Back in September the business sent out a survey to all its existing tenants asking for feedback on the services it offers. Paul said: “We were impressed with the response rate – around 35% – and every tenant is pleased with the service received from Wealden and would recommend us as a landlord to other parties.
“One element of the survey was to identify areas of work required and this has allowed us to start scheduling a plan of maintenance for 2020, giving both the tenants and the business confidence that the rental units are being updated.”
Paul added: “On a final note, we all know that finding reputable tradesmen is a challenge and that is why we are so fortunate to have our own dedicated maintenance team. However, two jobs which we are struggling involves the need for asbestos removal or the production and fitting of a new shopfront. Please get in touch if you recommend somebody in either field.”
