The Courage Project – The Most Important Time For Men Is Here

By Simon Lee, Founder of Unlimited Courage

As we slide headlong into a moral degradation, where our women and children become more unsafe by the day, we have to ask ourselves as men, how bad will it get before we play an active role in leading from example?

Fyodor Dostoevsky once wrote – “Every man is not only responsible for what he does but what everyone else does.”

This may not be popular, or even desired by many men but the character of a man who adheres to this principle will be far more resilient, balanced, courageous and responsible than a man who just chases his own desires.

He will indeed, be a man of the moment, a shining light, a pillar of example.

Therapy and personal development as a whole, has often driven men deeper into themselves, whilst it played at resilience and responsibility.

Men wanted empowerment and not to endlessly talk about their feelings, an idea falsely promoted as the panacea for their male angst. It hasn’t worked and quite possibly has caused great harm.

Many men have no trouble in pursuing their goals, talking about overcoming their pain but this is and always was the small game. Perhaps this is but the avoidance of the bigger picture, obscured from view by the fear of what is really expected of a man and his fear of stepping into this role.

Fyodor Dostoevsky leads us back to the responsibility of men that removes the often selfish, irresponsible, self obsessed character, that believes he is separate from everyone else and therefore only needs to serve his needs, or at most, those of his own family.

Albert Einstein wrote about this separation as follows;

“He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to the affection its few persons nearest to us.”

We now often speak of being divided and yet the truth is, we were already divided.

Divided within and without.

Man’s focus has been grasping at a future arrival point of success, peace and contentment through the attainment of money, status and position.

This didn’t work either and many men found themselves still deeply insecure and disappointed that they still carry the same dislikable traits in themselves, they hoped would miraculously vanish with the idea of success they had been sold.

The Courage Project offers a different yet traditional approach.

Life is a tapestry of one and the many masks we wear will only confuse us and make it harder to forge a character that is reliable and robust throughout all areas of life.

Every man must be a light unto himself, an example to his family and society, a warrior of self sovereignty and know what he stands for and more importantly, what he won’t stand for.

The power of the fully embraced masculine man will not just solve his own angst but the one throughout society too.

The absence of the courageous man, has created the world and the lack of real leadership we now face.

We now know weak men are dangerous.

It was never strong masculine men that were the issue, misnamed in the popular term ‘toxic masculinity’ but the very real toxicity of the insecure man, who seeks to soothe his pain through the control and suffering of other people.

It always was the lack of masculinity that was toxic, rendering the term toxic masculinity a misnomer of little sense.

Now is the time for us men step into the role we were born to be.

This is the perfect time and the world will change accordingly as men reclaim their divine masculine power and the responsibility this entails.
