New look for Sevenoaks Rugby Club teams – thanks to Savills

SEVENOAKS Rugby Club teams have been sporting a new look during their home fixtures this season – thanks to a new shirt deal from Savills, who are one of the club’s key sponsors.

Michael Wooldridge of Savills presents one of the new shirts to Ben Adams of Sevenoaks RFC.

Michael Wooldridge, head of Savills Maidstone office and president of Sevenoaks Rugby Club, presided over a recent ceremonial shirt-giving, presenting to Sevenoaks Rugby Club’s first team goal kicker, Ben Adams.

Steve Fitzmaurice, volunteer marketing lead and Head Coach of Under 14’s at Sevenoaks Rugby Club, said: “The support Savills provides helps us to do so much and goes well beyond the iconic yellow and red Savills logo impression on the front of our shirts.

“Of course, the investment Savills provides helps us to deliver the very best training and equipment to our juniors, but I’ve also coached children of the Savills team, enjoyed watching guys from the Savills office pull on the Oaks shirts, and then perhaps most importantly, we have regularly shared a refreshment or two as we reflect on the match in the Clubhouse.

“Other important aspects of our partnership include Savills generously donating £500 to the Club in return for every member referral to the Savills team for residential sales, which in turn goes towards specific items like tackle bags for the juniors and seniors. And the season for the juniors always kicks off with Savills Junior Membership Day, where the parents and coaches of the 800-strong junior section get to enjoy free teas and coffees, thanks to Savills.”

Paul Atherton, head of office at Savills Sevenoaks, commented: “Savills is proud to have been the main sponsors at Sevenoaks Rugby Club for the last four years. A number of employees have played senior rugby and their children have the opportunity to follow through the youth teams, so it goes much further than a professional involvement – we see the Rugby Club as a valuable community asset of which Sevenoaks should be rightly proud.”

Steve Fitzmaurice added: “Perhaps the best development in the Savills relationship with Sevenoaks Rugby Club is the most recent one. This season has seen the Club’s ace winger and place kicker Ben Adams, who came up through our junior ranks, recruited as a lettings trainee into the Savills office on Sevenoaks High Street. Ben’s a class act and scored 20 points in a ‘man of the match’ performance in the 1st XV’s opening League match of the season, a thumping victory over Thurrock. How cool is that?”
