Maxine sets her sights on repeating the success of her Sevenoaks Specsavers store in Oxted
HAVING run a successful Specsavers outlet in High Street Sevenoaks for more than 12 years, director Maxine Chakowa seems well on the way to repeating this success with her second venture in nearby Oxted.
Maxine, who served as Sevenoaks Town Mayor last year, and her business partner Bhavesh Hansjee, opened another Specsavers outlet in Station Road East, Oxted, last month (October) and have already attracted many new customers who are booking up for eye and hearing tests and treatments.
Maxine said: “I have been surprised at how busy we have been since we opened but also very pleased at how quickly we have been welcomed into Oxted.”
Customers at Specsavers Oxted will also benefit from the installation of an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) system.
The OCT system enables optometrists to view customers’ eyes in more detail than ever before by using light instead of sound waves. A 3D scan is made of the different layers that make up the eye and this helps identify if there are any areas of concern.
Maxine added: “This new 3D scanning technology is being put in to all new Specsavers and will eventually be in all their outlets.”
- The success of the Oxted Specsavers has generated some job opportunities and Maxine is looking for a trainee Optical Assistant to join her existing staff. For more details go to the My Sevenoaks Community JOBS section by CLICKING HERE
