Making a song and dance for Chasing Connor’s Cure – don’t miss this charity gig on Saturday 18 May
A CHARITY gig is being held at Walthamstow Hall girls’ school in Sevenoaks this Saturday, 18 May, to raise money for Chasing Connor’s Cure.
The Hildenborough charity was set up by the Crawford family to help find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy after their seven-year-old son Connor was diagnosed with the rare condition three years ago.
Local band Never Too Late will be hosting the night, with special guests The Habituales, who are travelling from Spain to take part in the show for free.
All proceeds will go to Chasing Connor’s Cure and the Brain Tumour Charity, which also helps to fund pioneering research.
Matt Crawford, Connor’s father, said: “We feel particularly close to Never Too Late. They found us shortly after Connor’s diagnosis and immediately set about supporting us with a gig, where we raised a fantastic amount for Duchenne research.
“They continue to support many charities and we are delighted they are holding another gig for us.
“Their approach is simple. They are fabulously talented, very generous people who enjoy creating great nights where charities benefit from all the ticket sales, prize draw proceeds and bar takings.”
The band’s drummer Liam Manby said: “We met Connor in 2016. We were looking to support a local charity so we gave Matt Crawford 150 tickets.
“We said, ‘that money’s yours, plus -whatever we receive on the night’. We had such fun last time, we were really engaged.”
Tickets to the event cost £12.50 and are available from chasingconnorscure.co.uk
