Exciting times ahead for Knole

As the world begins to open up again, so too will Knole, Sevenoaks’ jewel in the crown. Having provided so many of us with solace throughout lockdown, the rolling parkland is treasured for its natural beauty and haven of wildlife.

Imagine working in this stunning location? Well, with eight job vacancies looking to be filled, there is now a chance for you to become a part of Knole’s friendly National Trust team. The positions available are for the much loved Brewhouse Cafe. Open seven days a week, there are both full and part time vacancies. Applications can be found on the National Trust’s website and will be open until the 21st February.

Exciting times lie ahead for Knole, with a full program of events and exhibitions planned for 2022. First on the agenda is the reopening of the main house which takes place on the 14th of February- a date definitely worthy for an entry in your diary! Hannah Kay, Knole’s General Manager commented: ‘It will be lovely to welcome visitors back to see what Knole has to offer’. The 4th of March will see the restarting of the wonderful attic tours, which will be held of Fridays and Saturdays every week. With the expertise of a tour guide, visitors can experience a fascinating side to Knole that contrasts to the typical grandeur seen throughout the rest of the house.

A chance to experience more splendour will be made possible on the 28th of March, when visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore Lord Sackville’s charming personal gardens, a first for visitors to Knole for a few years. In addition, the public will be able to enjoy Knole’s beautiful grounds and absorb its heritage. With plans on the horizon for fun Easter trials and scrumptious picnics, there will be lots of opportunities for family fun. With the country preparing to celebrate the Queens Jubilee, Knole’s preparations are underway, and My Sevenoaks Community will update you on plans as and when they become available. To make sure you don’t miss out on any of Knole’s key dates in the meantime, check out their website where all the information can be found, alongside a link to pre-book your visit.
