Award-winning and community-minded Pilates business picks up third accolade of the year
Farningham-based OnPointe Pilates has won the ‘Customers Choice Awards’ at a Business Awards making it a hugely successful year for the business which has already won two awards since March.
OnPointe Pilates began in 2011 when it was set up by professionally trained dancer Frances Ware. Since its humble beginnings, the business has grown year-on-year. They now have a regular 200 person client base in their weekly classes where they teach a variety of sessions from Pilates to rehabilitation sessions. They have even launched ‘Pilates on Paddle Boards’, a first for the area.
Earlier in the year Frances won at the Kent Women in Business Awards for ‘Contribution to the Community’ and this highlights the community focused attitude of the company.
Frances said: “It’s been a great honour to win three awards this year, and we can’t thank our clients and the community enough for all their votes. We were thrilled to have even been nominated for these awards so to have won three different titles has been amazing.
“I love running my business, but as a business professional and entrepreneur, I really want to make a difference to our clients lives and provide a great service to our local area, it’s not just about being a business owner for me – I want to make a difference and that’s where my heart is. I believe that with the right team and right attitude, you can achieve anything that you set your mind to.”
This passion for giving back is clearly reflected by the business which holds regular charity events, including a hamper prize draw to raise money for prostate cancer. OnPointe Pilates decided to highlight the importance of this charity after seeing an increase of male clients. Prior to this, they were already supporting sufferers of breast cancer through their breast cancer rehabilitation exercises which Frances specialises in.
The ever expanding business is now on the hunt for its own studio so that they can continue to grow, provide local jobs and help even more people. Their mission is to share Pilates with as many people as possible as they believe it can help everyone, from people sitting at a desk in an office all day to professional athletes looking to improve their performance.
One of their main goals is to use the activity to combat loneliness among vulnerable members of the community as well as providing a fun and supportive space for all of their clients to exercise and become the best version of themselves.
