Athletes line up for the 7Oaks Tri Club Triathlon this Sunday – 28 April

HUNDREDS of athletes will going through their last few days of preparation this week before taking part in the 2019 7Oaks Tri Club Triathlon on Sunday (28 April).

Places for the event sold out some weeks ago but spectators and supporters can watch the race as it unfolds. It includes a 400m swim at the Sevenoaks Leisure centre, a 25km bike ride through the Kent Countryside and an 8km run through Knole Park. Competitors have already been allocated their race numbers and start times and the first racer will start in the pool at 6:30am and the last at 10:20am.

The Triathlon will also be helping to raise funds for Ellenor, a charity which supports families in Kent who are facing terminal illness.

The 7Oaks Tri Club has donated 10 places in the race to the charity and the participants will be generating funds through sponsorship.

The race also has sponsorship support from Bat & Ball Sports, Knocker & Foskett, Brebners and Kingdom.

Drivers are warned that there may be some minor disruption on roads around the Sevenoaks area on Sunday. Plus there will be a slightly different finish area for competitors following the completion of the new Buckhurst Car Park.
