Welcoming GAIL’s Bakery to Sevenoaks
Last Thursday, My Sevenoaks Community were delighted to attend the opening of GAIL’s Bakery’s latest requisition in Blighs Court. Bustling with eager crowds, all hungry for a sample of their finest artisan delights, the atmosphere was wholesome – complimented by the delectable aroma of freshly baked bread that infused the air.
Not only did we indulge in the opportunity to taste some of the bakery’s best selling pastries, cakes and sourdough loaves, we also had the pleasure of meeting CEO and co-founder Tom Molner. Upbeat, vibrant and infectious, Tom passionately shared with us the artisan history of GAIL’s, its core values and rapid success. With a fresh, forward thinking ethos on community and sustainability, GAIL’s outlook mirrors the unpreserved, natural ingredients of their mouth watering menu. Going forward it is clear that the bakery will undoubtedly become a much valued asset to the town.
Be it a relaxed coffee morning, or a pit stop at lunch time, the bakery’s continental vibe with its outdoor seating, and scrumptious offerings of daily goods are set to make it a central hot spot for many. Enabling customers to engage with the ambience of the food is as important to the foundations of GAIL’s as the staff’s warm and friendly nature. This is experienced as soon as you enter the store in which the customer is taken on a journey through what is considered a ‘food theatre’. With displays of abundant pastries, croissants and buns to feast your eyes upon in the morning, there is then a transition to a selection of delicious quiches, sandwiches and pies to savour in the afternoon. This offers customers comfort in knowing that there will always be a continuous flow of fresh foods available.
Likewise to the emphasis that GAIL’s places on their lovingly hand crafted bakes, the detail and care that has been invested into the modern yet welcoming interior is equally evident. From features such as the bright floral print wallpaper and cascading foliage, the simplicity of the casual wooden seating, to the sleek shelving piled high with treats including high quality butters, jams and biscuits. Most impressive however is the store’s counter which is crafted from actual oak tree from Sevenoaks – showcasing a unique symbol of the team’s vision of binding their future service to the community, with some historical heritage of the town.
If you haven’t yet indulged in a visit to GAIL’s then it is highly recommend that you do! You can pop by anytime from 7am to 7pm everyday of the week to quench your thirst with a cup of freshly ground coffee, savour their seasonal goods, and soak up the loving atmosphere which will most certainly feed your soul.
