Working parties gather to make sure Eynsford blooms

EYNSFORD IN BLOOM: Judgment day is Friday 6 July and working parties will continue to meet at back of main village car park opposite the church on the following dates and times: 9.30am on Tuesdays 5, 12,19, 26 June and Saturday 2 June. Thursday evening working parties meet from 6-8 pm on 31 May and 7,14,21 and 28 June. If you would like more information on how you can help call Pauline Penny on 01322 864751.

PANSY PARADE QUILT: Members of Eynsford’s ‘Sew n Sews’ patchwork quilting group have made a beautiful bedsize quilt ornamented with lovely pansies to be raffled in September to help raise funds and awareness for Target Ovarian Cancer. The group is also happy to discuss displaying the quilt to any local organisation and at any local events to help raise the profile of the Charity. FARNINGHAM CHURCH FETE: Music, dancing, games, a fun sog Show and children’s races are among the attractions on offer at Farningham Church Fete on Saturday 9 June from noon to 4pm. The fete is being held in the village hall and on Market Meadow next door. All money raised will go towards supporting Farningham Church. If you can volunteer to help or wish to take a stall contact Vikki on 01322 861931. All donations for the prize draw and tombola are always appreciated.

AXSTANE PLAYERS are performing The Turn of The Screw, a Victorian ghost story, on Friday 8 June and Saturday 9 June at Farningham Village Hall . Tickets £8 from 01322 630680 or c.collier@sky.com.

EYNSFORD GARDEN SAFARI is on Sunday 17 June. To find out which gardens are open get a programmein advance from Malcolm Richardson at The Old Manse, High Street or by telephoning 01322 861695. Programmes will also be available on the day at each garden.

BIG CONCERT IN THE CASTLE: Eynsford Concert Band and DVYM will be bringing music to Eynsford Castle on Sunday 17 June, 3pm start. Entry is free.

ROBIN HOOD AND HIS MERRY MEN: The Riverside Youth Group will be performing this age old tale at Eynsford Village Hall on 6 and 7 July, 7.30 start. Tickets £8 adults £5 for under 12s and over 65s.

ANTHONY ROPER FUN DAYS: Some advance dates for your diaries. The fun days at the village school will take place on 6 and 20 August. More details of times and activities will follow in village news.

DARCEY BUSSELL’S DDMIX DANCEFIT: Sheree will be at Farningham Village Hall at 12.30pm on Tuesdays holding her dance keep fit sessions. Have fun and keep fit with, easy and simple to follow dances inspired from the 40’s, 50’s 60’, 70’s and across different cultures. Suitable for all abilities. FARNINGHAM CRICKET CLUB now has a Ladies Section and it can cater for any age (15+) and ability. Training is on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm onwards. The club is also hosting a Softball Festival (cricket with a softer ball) on the 1 July and everyone is welcome to attend. The cricket will all start at11am and the bar will be open, the barbecue on and an array of stalls to enjoy. Entry is free.
