Volunteers wanted to help Public Realm Commissioner protect and improve outdoor spaces throughout Sevenoaks District
Sevenoaks District Council has recently appointed Cllr Roddy Hogarth as ‘Public Realm Commissioner’ for the Sevenoaks District and he is looking for volunteers to help him in this new role.
Cllr Hogarth (pictured) will be advising the Council’s Cabinet on how to best use the outdoor spaces in the District. This includes fundraising to help improve and protect them, making the best of new public spaces and installing art in outdoor areas. To assist him, Cllr Hogarth is seeking several volunteers to join the Public Realm Commission.
Cllr Hogarth said: “The Sevenoaks District has many beautiful outdoor spaces and I am really excited to begin work on maximising these areas for the community.
These unique volunteer roles are perfect for people with charity and fundraising experience as well as an enthusiasm for outdoor spaces and public art. You will be working closely with me to enhance outdoor places and seek out new opportunities.”
The volunteer role is for 12-month and successful candidates will be required to attend three or four meetings a year.
