RUGBY: Sevenoaks Under 13 girls squad become Kent Champions after hard fought victories over Colfes and Ashford

Sevenoaks RFC U13 girls lifted the winner’s trophy in the Kent Waterfall final over the weekend.

In their first match against Old Colfes, who as hosts for the tournament final were playing on their own ground, the Sevenoaks team knew they had to be at their best to have any chance of winning. They proved they were up for the challenge and Libby, Georgia and Niamh all scored a try each with Colfes only being able to record one score in reply.

In their second game against Ashford, the Sevenoaks players faced the extra pressure, but added incentive, of knowing if they won they would be Kent Champions.

The Oaks girls continued where they left off in the first game and every player put in a monumental performance. This resulted in three tries from Maddy, two from Janie and another from Erin to ensure they triumphed by 6 tries to Ashford’s 2.

The squad included:  Jamie (c); Erin; Vivian; Georgia; Maddy; Libby; Scarlet; Imogen; Chloe; Niamh; Anne-Marie; Heidi; Eleanor. And coach Phil Mockford.
