Riverhead butchers can supply and deliver more than just meat produce

BATCHELOR’S BUTCHERS: Bachelor’s has always supported their more elderly customers with home deliveries and say this will continue. If you need a delivery, contact Graham on 01732 452516. They are happy to help and as well as fresh meat can supply milk, cooked cold meats, cheese, jams and preserves and vegetables and also frozen items.  Other Riverhead Residents’ Associations have volunteers making sure that elderly residents and those self-isolating can obtain supplies of food etc.

POTHOLES: The number of potentially dangerous potholes in Riverhead roads after the recent wet weather is increasing. The easiest way to report these is on-line at www.kent.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/report-a-problem. Make sure to note the reference number so you can follow progress and chase it up if necessary. Only report a pothole by phone if you feel that it is likely to cause an accident, in which case call 03000 418181 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday or 03000 419191 at all other times. Make sure you can give an exact location. If your vehicle has suffered actual damage as a result of a pothole and you want to claim compensation from Kent Highways you will need to prove that the pothole has been reported and give the reference number.

COFFEE MORNING: The Seniors’ Coffee mornings at the Bullfinch Pub have been cancelled and there will be no more monthly coffee mornings until further notice.

SPRING CLEAN: The village Spring Clean planned for this Sunday 21 March has been postposned

CONCERT CANCELLED: The concert by the Sevenoaks Philharmonic Choir on 29 March which would also have featured the Amherst School Choir has been cancelled.

ANNUAL PARISH MEETING: The meeting planned for 23 April 23 will not go ahead for the public but Riverhead Parish Council is looking into ways to circulate the annual Chairman’s letter, possibly by email via the various Residents’ Associations.

PARISH COUNCIL CONTACTS The Parish Clerk’s office at Riverhead village hall will not be open to personal callers until further notice but telephone messages and email will be picked up frequently by the Clerk.
