Introducing The Lewis Project
We would like to introduce you to The Lewis Project who are based at The Stag Theatre, House in The Basement, Sevenoaks.
The charity was set-up six years ago to promote mental well-being in young people 16+ through music and it’s free of charge to all.
They meet-up every Monday evening between 5-10pm, they have a full PA system for rehearsals focusing on gigs or just to get involved with like-minded people experimenting with their own versions of music.
The space is reasonably small and intimate without intimidation or judgment, they know there are many young people who suffer silent issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety and depression.
Their aim is to give a space for young people who love playing an instrument or singing to enjoy some me time. They have seen many changes in their members through being in an inclusive environment, building confidences and making new friends.
A number of their members have recently left TLP to pursue their musical qualifications at University or left the area to pursue another area of their lives which is always sad but they must also say well done to those who are getting on and furthering their dreams.
They now have some free spaces and are ready to build up another band or two, so if you know of any students that fit this criteria, please use this contact email for information and they will contact you in person.
