Don’t miss The Food Fest at The Mount Vineyard – plus there’s a chance to win an award winning tour and tasting for two in our free to enter competition

ENGLISH Wine Week (Saturday 26 May – Sunday 3 June) heralds the start of the vineyard touring season here in Kent and The Mount Vineyard in Shoreham will once again be offering its award winning tour and tasting experiences from now until harvest time in October.

The vineyard is also the venue for The Food Fest (2 & 3 June) again this year which will be a fitting finale to English Wine Week. It is being organised by Clairey Hearnden with the help of Jay Scott to help raise money for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. As well as a range of fantastic food, they have arranged for a whole array of talented musicians to perform during the two-day event. Tickets can be purchased on the gate on in advance on the website:  www.thefoodfest.com

The Mount Vineyard in Church Street has breathtaking views of the Darent Valley and, according to the owners, the area benefits from similar conditions to those of the champagne region thanks to the chalk stream and micro climate in the valley.

The stylish, state of the art vineyard produces still and sparkling wines and was the winner of Kent wine of the year 2017 and a finalist in 2018. The Mount Vineyard’s tour and tastings also won the title of Wine Tasting Experience of the Year 2018 for the UK from the people at The Luxury Travel Guide.

Members of the team at the vineyard pride themselves on providing an informative but very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for tastings, which is accompanied by cheese and charcuterie platters to help soak up the sparkling and still wines.

The Mount is also open for food and the menu includes stone baked pizzas from their Italian oven and drinks from 12-6pm Thursday to Sunday (plus bank holiday Mondays). This means you can still enjoy the beautiful setting with friends without joining a tasting session if you wish.

Tours & Tastings are available most Thursday to Sunday afternoons as well as selected Wednesday evenings throughout the summer months. Visit www.themountvineyard.co.uk for more details.
