Crafters get together for a cuppa and a chat at church in Eynsford on last Wednesday of every month

A COFFEE & CRAFT MORNING is held in St Martin’s Church Eynsford on the last Wednesday of every month. The next one is on 26 June between 10am -12.30pm. Visitors are invited to enjoy a coffee, cake, craft and chat. Take along your knitting, sewing, crafting or just yourself. EYNSFORD SUMMER FETE  is on Saturday 13 July from 11am – 3pm at St. Martin’s Church. There will be stalls selling jewellery, scarves, gifts, books, cards, jam, cakes, sweets, plants, bric-a-brac and a chance to a prize in the raffle. Call in for morning coffee and cake or a light lunch. There will be stalls inside and outside church. All proceeds to St Martin’s Church refurbishment fund. EYNSFORD IN BLOOM: Judging will be on 4 July from 10am to noon. With just a few weeks left more helpers are invited to join the team of volunteers. All working parties meet at back of main village car park opposite the church at: 9.30 am on Tuesdays 18 and 25 June. Thursday evenings at 6pm to 7.30pm on 20 and 27 June. Saturday, 6 July. CLASSIC ELVIS: Take a musical trip back in time to the 1950’s-1970’s with Scott Elvis at St Botolph’s Church at Lullingstone on Friday 28 June at 7pm. A LAVENDER AND POPPY WALK starts from Eynsford Village on Thursday 4 July at 10.15am. The circular walk will cover around 6.2 miles/10 km and is described as ‘moderate’ It starts at 10.15 and will finish 1.30pm approx. Participants are invited to meet by the river opposite The Plough pub near The Ford. There is a hilly start but this opens up good views. Dogs are allowed on short leads. There will be a nibble break or maybe an ice cream at the Lavender farm, and people can socialise in the pub at the end if they wish. The walk is being organised by Tonbridge & Malling Ramblers. ALICE IN WONDERLAND is being performed by the Riverside Youth Group at Eynsford Village Hall on 12,13 & 14 July. Tickets are £10 for adult, £7 concessions. An afternoon tea is also available with the tickets at £50 for two available from naomijmorgan2014@gmail.com

NEW FOLLY SINGERS SPRING CONCERT is on Saturday 20 July at West Kingsdown Primary School. New singers always welcome, just turn up on Thursday at Farningham Church at 8pm.

TEA AND CHAT: A friendly group meets every Thursday at Farningham Village Hall and offers a supportive and enjoyable break to anyone who is lonely or perhaps just needs a little time away from their house or would like to meet some new friends, chat and share some cake and tea. FARNINGHAM VILLAGE HALL NEEDS A SOCIAL SECRETARY: The Hall is used every week during the year by local people and community groups for many different activities, such as yoga, dance, music, meetings, performances and productions.
The hall is managed by a small committee of volunteers. The aim is to raise enough income from the hire fees paid for the activities at the hall to cover the hall maintenance, plus a little extra to pay for repairs and improvements. Can you offer a few hours to volunteer as the social secretary?
The committee is looking for one or two volunteers to help put on a couple of fund-raising events like a quiz, a show, or sale to help raise some funds. Volunteering can provide a chance to use your talents, develop your skills, meet new people and make a useful contribution to the local community.
