Cigarettes targeted in village burglaries – man charged
A suspect has been charged after an attempted break-in at a shop in Kemsing village.
Kent Police was contacted following the attempt to break into the shop at around 1am on 29 November 2019. Approximately two hours later, entry was gained to a shop in Lamberhurst and a quantity of cigarettes was reported stolen.
On Wednesday 15 April 2020, Asso Salhi of Rooley Moor Road, Rochdale was arrested at his home address. The 30-year-old was later charged with an attempted burglary in West End, Kemsing and a burglary in High Street, Lamberhurst.
Mr Salhi was also charged with a burglary on Low Road, Leeds on 20 February 2020. He has been remanded in custody and was due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 17 April).
