They took it one match at a time, it was a game of two halves, and eventually Savills Sevenoaks were over the moon after their charity football contest in aid of the Air Ambulance service

MORE than £1,500 has been raised on behalf of the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance thanks to a charity football tournament, organised by Savills Sevenoaks, which was supported by over 200 people.

The event, which took place at Knole Academy in Sevenoaks last Wednesday (5 June), brought together 16 teams from across the south east of England including property firms, councils and local businesses connected to Savills.

It proved t be a closely contested tournament with a team from Taylor Wimpy emerging as the winners of the 2019 Savills cup, after they defeated the team from Countryside in a thrilling final game.

Paul Atherton of Savills Sevenoaks said: “It is great to be able to host the event annually and support such worthy causes. We were especially delighted to welcome the Air Ambulance crew themselves to assist us with the prize draw ahead of the competition, this year.

“There was a wonderful atmosphere, friendly yet with a competitive edge. We concluded the event with players enjoying a well-deserved pizza, swapping notes and comparing techniques.”

The Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance, whose mission is to save lives by providing the best possible emergency care, were called out to 2,000 people in life threating conditions last year alone. The charity is funded solely by voluntary contributions.
