Rick Wakeman puts on two shows at the Pamoja Hall during Sevenoaks Summer Festival finale

A PACKED house was spellbound by the music and humour provided by Rick Wakeman at the Sevenoaks Summer Festival finale concert at the Pamoja Hall in Sevenoaks on Sunday evening.

It’s the Ray and Rick show as they pull out another lucky winner in the Sevenoaks Summer Festival prize draw.

The former keyboard player with the rock band Yes originally trained as a concert pianist and his one man show takes the audience on a journey through his music and career which includes working with a whole host of other famous musicians and recording several of his own albums.

But those who stayed behind after his show, when Rick kindly agreed to draw the winning tickets in the Sevenoaks Summer Festival Prize Draw in the foyer of the Pamoja Hall, were treated to another unscheduled ‘performance’. Rick formed an unlikely comedy duo with festival organiser Ray Russell as they picked out the lucky winners.

The Festival Finale Concert was sponsored by Wildernesse House, the retirement complex near Sevenoaks. The new Pavilion Restaurant in the grounds of the estate has just opened to the public and you can read more about it, and an interview with the head chef, by CLICKING HERE

Next year the Sevenoaks Summer festival celebrates its 50th anniversary and the dates are: Saturday 20 June – Sunday 5 July 2020.
