An evening of music and magic among the vines with The HD Show Band

A musical delight is set to grace the beautiful meadows at the Mount Vineyard in Shoreham on the evening of Saturday 10th of July. Presented by the talented HD Show Band, the concert has been masterminded by Henry Desmond whose roots are bound to both his enduring passion for music and his home village of Shoreham.

From the tender age of 6, Henry’s talents as a pianist began. With his love for music and the arts growing with each opportunity that came his way, Henry later embraced the chance to direct a production of Sister Act at the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks. From travelling with The Royal Shakespeare Company to his current position as assistant Flys manager at the Royal Opera House, his ensuing journey up the musical ladder has enabled him to savour every aspect of musical theatre.

Henry and the band in action

An opportunity to savour an eclectic mix of genres from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, to chart toppers of today will be brought to the audience from an open air stage surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Mount’s vineyards, accompanied by a scrumptious picnic. With uplifting dance numbers from favourite artists such as Tom Jones, Elvis Presley and Abba, the concert will undoubtedly provide a chance to make memories whilst soaking up some superb music, great company and fine wines.

Henry conducting

With lockdown having robbed the freedoms of many, Henry describes how the period of isolation was ‘lifeless’, as he and his band were unable to fulfil the joys of performing. Having hosted a few virtual events, the band’s first official outing on July the 10th is set to bring a much missed dose of magic to both the musicians and eager audience once again. An event which Henry anticipates will be the start of many more to come in the not too distant future.
