All the fun of the fair! Two-week Sevenoaks Summer Festival starts this Saturday 23 June

THE Sevenoaks Summer Festival 2018 kicks off with the ever popular all-day Festival Fair (10am – 5pm) this Saturday 23 June.

The morning and afternoon attractions will be taking place in Bligh’s Meadow, The Shambles and the Vine Gardens and includes several activities and events aimed at children, many of which are free – including Face Painting, Punch & Judy shows, and appearances of Juggle It All Big Balloon, clowns, stilt walkers, jugglers and close-up magic.

Tickets for Puppet Shows in Stag Plaza are moderately-priced at £5, and COLOURSCAPE returns by popular demand for a fifth year in the Vine Gardens.

This extraordinary structure provides an amazing audio-visual experience for the whole family and shouldn’t be missed.

Musical entertainment is provided throughout the day by talented performers appearing outside The Black Boy, beside the Bligh’s Clock Tower and on the Youth Music Stage this year with Kent Youth Jazz Orchestra providing the finale starting at 4.30pm.

The weekend entertainment continues on the evening on 23 June with the Sevenoaks Three Arts Prizewinners Concert in the Ship Theatre at Walthamstow Hall, plus a concert of film songs in cabaret style performed by the Sevenoaks Players at The Stag Plaza.

Sunday 24 June starts with a Festival Eucharist in St Luke’s church followed by a 30 minute organ recital.

On Sunday afternoon there is a free concert on the Vine Bandstand and The Big Chris Barber Band will be appearing in The Pamoja Hall – 3pm start.

On Sunday evening there is a choral concert by the Sevenoaks Philharmonic choir in the Stag Theatre and an instrumental classical concert given by Primavera Ensemble in the Baron’s Hall at Penshurst Place.

Details of all the Sevenoaks Summer festival activities can be found in free brochures which can be found at various outlets around town and on the festival website at: www.sevenoaksfestival.org.uk.
