EYNSFORD & FARNINGHAM CORONAVIRUS SUPPORT NETWORK

Message from village parish councils:

Eynsford and Farningham Parish Councils are working together to co-ordinate the volunteers in our villages and to make sure that all areas are covered. We will cascade useful information to the volunteers and also respond to queries and refer to appropriate support services as required. Our central information point will be www.eynsfordparishcouncil.org.uk so that it can been seen by those not on social media.

We are aware that not everyone is on Facebook or online. Please share this information with others you think could help.

We are aware that lots of people have already volunteered and have started sharing information in their areas and we want to work with you.

The proposal is that one or two people volunteer to cover their street or area, this may include more than one street if there are not too many houses. Those volunteers will use the postcards circulated online (which we can produce more of in the parish office) to houses in their areas with contact details. They will then be able to help out those people with shopping, and picking up other supplies, other practical help or even a chat on the phone. Ideally volunteers would not be in any of the vulnerable/self-isolating categories, or key workers who are needed elsewhere.

We would ask these volunteers (who may have a larger pool of helpers) to give us their name address and mobile number (which we will not share) and we will create a larger Whatsapp group of these street representatives. We will communicate with you all via this group if needed. We are in touch with Sevenoaks District Council who are looking at producing ID lanyards for volunteers so that elderly or vulnerable people can be sure that you are genuine – they can check with SDC for your ID number.

Below is a long list of streets in all of our villages – if you are already, or would like to be a volunteer please send an email to info@eynsfordparishcouncil.org.uk with:
Your name
Your address
Which street/area you will be helping
Are you happy to be joined to a Whatsapp group (this will mean your number will be seen by other volunteers). (We will not share your contact details apart from this, except if we need to share with SDC to get your ID lanyards.

If we have too many names for one street, we will only add up to two into the whatsapp group so it doesn’t get too big.
